PBYC Member General Meeting – featuring Alicia Stratton

PBYC 1363 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura, CA

### Announcing Our Speaker, Alicia Stratton, for the Saturday General Meeting at PBYC

We are thrilled to welcome a distinguished guest speaker for our Saturday general meeting at the Yacht Club. With a lifelong passion for the ocean, our speaker has an extensive background in marine biology and environmental conservation. Growing up as an Air Force child, she developed a love for the sea after moving to California and has been exploring the Channel Islands since 1969.

An alumna of UCSB with a degree in Environmental Biology, she has worked on sportfishing and commercial fishing boats, obtained her SCUBA certification, and earned her USCG license. Her career includes positions with Island Packers, The Nature Conservancy, and the NOAA Marine Sanctuary, as well as a role with the County APCD focusing on marine engine exchange and ship/whale collision monitoring.

Together with her husband, whom she met while kayaking, she built a 42-ft. catamaran and now spends her time sailing and teaching about the Channel Islands with Road Scholar. Her presentation aims to provide a unique perspective on the natural beauty we encounter while sailing around the Channel Islands.

Members, Guests and Friends of PBYC, Join us for an inspiring and educational session this Saturday. Don't miss it!
